Melissa Minkow: Director of Retail Strategy at CI&T
Well, I am sure your job is fun and all but have you ever had a job role that was specifically made for you?
Melissa from Chicago is a great speaker and an excellent content creator. CI&T understood that quite well, hence offering her the job of Director Of Retail Strategy. She is a retail thought and strategy leader for the company. As a creative person with lots of enthusiasm and very similar interests, it was a highly engaging conversation with Melissa.
CI&T
CI&T is an end-to-end digital solutions provider for retail, CPG, life sciences, financial services, and media companies. They digitally transform businesses via customized strategies and innovation. With a 26-year track record, they are a promising go-to destination for ensuring a future-forward approach.
Melissa functions as their subject matter expert, driving brand awareness with unique and interactive content. Her job is intensive and exciting where she gets to represent the company, speaking at various events to share CI&T’s retail perspective.
Content Creation
A huge amount of time in Melissa’s life is invested in creating content that is insightful and educational. She creates blogs, podcasts, webinars and even makes sure that each press comment is fresh. For this, she has to ensure that she is constantly updated about every small progress in the retail sector.
Based on this, she creates interesting content and later talks about it to spread awareness. She visits companies, stores, and industry events to deepen her thoughts and insightful findings.
Podcast
Melissa’s life literally revolves around content. Beyond work, she sets off to create her own podcast; ‘Love In Dating Shows’. She describes it as her passion. It is completely different from what she does otherwise. In this podcast, she speaks about love, romance, and how it is portrayed in TV serials. Definitely something worth listening to.
However, if you are looking for a more educational podcast, don’t forget to listen to the CI&T podcast, which she occasionally hosts. Her episodes speak to trends and strategies in retail.
Melissa: The Retail Subject-Matter Expert
Consumer insight is life for Melissa. The young girl from Chicago started her career as a merchandise presentation analyst for Target until she found out that she could do so much more. She has moved around since then, learned a lot, and even explored a bit out of retail, only to find out that retail is the most intuitive for her.
But with all that said, an important lesson she learned about working in a company is how important the culture of a company is. It can make or break your career.
Luckily, she ended up at CI&T where they have an excellent company culture and wonderful people. They respect her creativity and give her all the freedom to stay flexible. That is why she keeps advising everyone to be aware of the company culture while starting a new job.
While doing what you love, make sure that you are not getting sucked into living a life that is only about working!

The conversation with Melissa was very short and brief but we still have a lot to discuss retail and many brands’ digital transformations in the space. So what is something you want to hear her talk about?
